After landing in Canada for the first time you should follow these easy tips. I can bet that you will feel that you have not migrated to a new country called CANADA
1. First of all you need a Job
If you’re planning on doing a short landing, you can try to secure a job before you land in Canada. It’s very challenging but not impossible.
Connect with your industry: there is a community for pretty much any industry you could be a part of. Just Google it out. If you're a mechanical engineer, for example, just Google "Mechanical Engineer community in Toronto". Instead of "community", you can even try "association". In this example, the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering comes up. Browse the website and search for any people you find there.
And connect with them on LinkedIn and start building a relationship with them.

In addition to above you can check the industry each province specializes in my favorites Canadian statistics site StatCan.
If you work in a regulated field like teaching, medical, engineering, accounting, you will have to undergo a bridging program to learn how Canada practices these security sensitive industries. The sooner you start is better and my suggestion is start looking for those courses before landing in Canada.
2. To get a home on rent and to buy used car, a popular site here is Kijiji. Use Kijiji for all your basic needs and you are good to go in Canada.
3. Settling down after landing
Public transport is great to get around, there are many options. The GOTRANSIT is a little expensive if you need to travel between cities.
Language: English is the first language, and if you have good communication skills it definitely helps with the job finding. French if you plan to live in Quebec or Ottawa
The culture is take first pay later. When you fill petrol, you put the petrol in first, and then go into the shop to pay. When I tried this in America, the man came charging out of the shop yelling at me You got to pay me first!”
Sports: Learn baseball and ice hockey and you can have great engaging conversations with just about anybody.
Schools & Parks: Every residential area has a school close by. There are many parks as well. There is definitely a great outside culture here as you enjoy all 4 seasons and no pollution.
Winters: Everyone is worried about cold, it’s not as bad as I thought. During winters, even when the temperature drops to -10, wear your Canada Goose jacket, tuck your bare hands in it’s warm pockets, and you are perfectly fine. If you live in India, it’s just like having a bad monsoon.
4. Cost of living per month (for a family of 3)
